The Tzolk’in is a kind of calendar with 260 days The Haab is the calendar with 365 days and the Long Count has 5,125.36 days. WE are concerned about December 21, 2012, the last day of the Long Count according to the Mayans.

To Many people think it is the end of the world where we will experience catastrophe in cataclysmic proportions where famine, hunger, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, solar flares and wars will happen.

We rely on magnetism for our cars. We derive security with the normal course of nature on earth. However, it seems like natural disasters are just waiting to happen, for example the Yellowstone Volcano is due to explode which is capable of blowing up half of the mainland USA, cover the earth with ash and cause something like a nuclear winter that can freeze mankind to death.

There will be reversal of earth’s magnetism brought about by a solar flare which could render our cellphones useless and cause satellites to jam. It could also lead to volcanic eruptions, strong earthquakes, tsunamis and solar flares.

We can understand why people are in panic mode about the approaching December 21, 2012. Apart from this date being the end of the 26,000 year calendar, it is also the end of the 3 calendar cycle.

December 2012 may seem scary but we should anticipate its coming with a mix of being prepared than panic. For all you know, the 2012 end time will actually bring us hope and prosperity.

Will 2012 Be the End of the World – mayan predictions

The 2012 end is important to many religions and cultures. They interpret this as a time that will bring great changes.

Many believe that it is s time that the Saviour of mankind will come to judge the living and the dead. Whatever people believe 2012 would be, it is definitely a time of great change for mankind.

The Mayans consider this as the end of their calendar which is 5,125 years. One ancient reference that talked about the god Bolon Yookte’ K’uh coming down to earth. But they imply that something else is going to happen after 2012.

They say it will be a time of great suffering and pain, wars, famine, hunger and natural disasters which will be led by an anti-Christ, anything that symbolizes evil in this world.

The Mayan 2012 end time predictions have referred to people and events beyond our present time and what they call the end of the 13th B’ak’tun. But once the turmoil ends, For the survivors of these catastrophic events there will definitely be hope for a new beginning and if the prophecies of other religions come true then there will be peace and prosperity on earth.

The events predicted for The 2012 end time predictions of a pole shift and other cosmic phenomena could drastically change the course of nature but for people who recognize the power of a Supreme Being, the bet is yet to come.

Will the Mayan 2012 Prophecy Come True? – the world will end on December 21, 2012

Most of us must have heard about the new of the 2012 end time prophecy that says that the world will end on December 21, 2012. As with any other prophecies, predictions, forecasting, we will never know if they are true until they happen and proven true.

The ancient Mayan civilization were inhabitants of the earth some two thousand years before Christ. They were then one of the most advanced people, if not the most modern in the face of the earth. They were extremely skilled in astrology and mathematics.

They were also expert in astronomy and quite knowledgeable about the movement of the constellations and its celestial activities. They also invented a unique calendar based on the movement of these stars that eventually controlled the course of their everyday lives.

They were able to successfully measure the length of their own year based on solar activity and was successful in studying celestial activities. And they were able to make accurate mathematical calculations without any use of electronic calculators that we have today.

Nostradamus and the 2012 Mystery – Nostradamus prophesied that the world will end on December 21, 2012

Nostradamus, in the sixteenth century, prepared and sold drug for medicinal purposes but he also dabbled in astrology that are still relevant until this day. He has around more than six thousand prophecies to his name.

His predictions are mostly about natural and man-made disasters such as assassinations, floods, wars volcanic explosion and earthquake. His most famous prophecy is the bombing of the Twin Towers in New York. He also prophesied the two World Wars, the French Revolution and the Rise and Fall of Adolf Hitler.

Many still believe that Nostradamus prophesied that the world will end on December 21, 2012 in concurrence wit the prediction based on the Mayan calendar and the Bible, specifically the Book of Revelation.

His prediction about the Third World War coincides with that of the Bible where he added that after the war, there will be thousand of years of peace. This can be compared to the Millenia mentioned in Revelation.
There are many interpretations about the prediction of the worldwide cataclysm but it only leads to one thing – death. 2012 can be the start of a chaotic world where mankind will be affected in the most devastating way possible.

There will be an alignment of the plane of the galaxy with the sun in a rare event that only happens once every 26000 years. This only means catastrophe being the usual favorite of Nostradamus’ prophecies. Now, people are inclined to believe that Nostradamus died on December 21.

Olympics 2012 – The History of The Olympic Games

The Olympic Games started in 776BC when an athlete named Coroebus won the only event scheduled for that day. The name of the race was Stade which was some kind of a race that measured 210 yards. Since then the Olympics was held every after 4 years only to be stopped in 393CE by Theodosios I the Christian emperor who thought that the games manifested paganism.

Later in 1500 a Frenchman named Pierre De Coubertin resurrected the games ushering a new age that continued on to the modern Olympics that we know today.

It was not always a bed or roses for the committee and for the games. They had their own share of ups and downs. Nevertheless, the 2012 Olympics are expected to be the best games that will be ever held so far. The advent of new technologies in engineering and communication will make it possible for every spectator to watch the games in the very comfort of their homes. It will also be exciting to watch every athlete give it all for the honor and pride of the countries they represent.

Those who were responsible for starting the games in 776BC will definitely be proud of how far the games have gone. The Olympics have been responsible for bringing peace and unity to nations and the athletes become some kind of ambassadors of goodwill for their country.

As of this writing preparations are underway for the 2012 London Olympic games. This will definitely enhance London’s image as a superpower and an economic giant. The London Olympic ground will once again be serve as witness to the athletic prowess of athletes of each country where fond memories will linger long after the games are over.
