The world will end just before Christmas in 2012. It is that time in 2012 that we are due to be wiped out from the face of the earth. The Mayans had predicted this event.
The Mayans is an ancient civilization that made their settlements on vast areas of land in Central America beginning in 1800BC. Their civilization collapsed due to population explosion, drastic environmental changes, and the coming of the Spanish Conquistadores 2000 years ago.
The Mayans had a very rich culture. They excelled in mathematics, architecture and astrology. In the course of their cultural enrichment the Mayans discovered the proper way to keep time by inventing a calendar system. This system is now being used in books, seminars, and the Internet to promote these end time prophecies.
Is 2012 the end of the world? Humans are particularly good at spreading the bad news the reason why it spreads like wildfire. With regard to the predictions of 2012, we’re into the dessert part. No one has anything to present and we’re still swallowing the end of life like it’s on sale at Wal-Mart.
The Mayans did not predict everything.
The famous Mayan calendar was invented to tell the time. It was not only invented to make predictions and prophecies; it was also used to forecast crop harvest and other events. They are naturally not into making prophecies and predictions but they’re quite superstitious.
They believed in many different gods. But their being superstitious has nothing to do with the 2012 end time prophecies. Their Mayan calendar ends at the same time the Gregorian calendar does. This means that they would also follow a yearly calendar just like the modern world.
The Mayan calendar will be concluded in 5,125.36 years and becomes cyclical year in and year out. It is noteworthy that any story or article about the 2012 end time prophecies will make money. Try to go online, visit bookstores, check on the news, read the papers and meet people. All those source of information has something to say about it.
It’s not necessary for us to build an underground hideout. Life on earth will inevitably end not because the ancient Mayans predicted it.
